What do you call the individual products made by Bayerische Motoren Werke?

Just cars, not bikes. If you have a credible alternative, post it and I'll stick it in the poll.

I call them Bee Em Double You.

The wife (who's Bulgarian) pronounces it correctly, as Beh-Em-Veh and no-one ever has a clue what she's talking about. hehe

Oi!

I secretly want to punch people who call my BMW a "beemer"

"Beemer" is better than "Bimmer" which makes you sound like a complete idiot, IMO.

Germans call 'em "bay-em-vay" too. And the Merc G-wagen is a "gay-vargon" which always makes me laugh. smile
Yes, that's why I said "correctly". smile

It's funny that people use the German pronunciation of Porsche (at least I assume it's the German pronunciation with a soft "a" sound on the end) yet if you use the German pronunciation of BMW no-one understands you.

Isn't it Bimmer for the car, and Beemer for the motorcycle? At least as far as received nickname conventions go?

I would probably say BMW, but I'm not particularly consistent.

Haven't a clue. I've never heard it used in speech, only seen it written on here and only recently even here. It just sounds really stupid and childish to me.
