Focus RS MK1 or MK2?

Didn't the Mk1 suffer from really bad torque steer? MK2 is a great car in the dry especially with mountune upgrade. Although both are chavy in my opinion.
I think the story was that the press reviewed cars that weren't final and the production set up was different. Not that I've had a go in either.Been a passenger in a Mk2 loads of times now. Staggeringly fast in a straight line, amazing grip in the bends and the owner reporting that the only car that has troubled him so far was a 500bhp M5.
However, the ride quality is rubbish, crashing over bumps, it looks like it belongs on the cover of Max power and it's a Focus that he bought new for £28k!!
Each to their own I guess...

Mk1.
For the £20k-£25k a mk2 would cost you could also have one of the following:
M3 CSL
S2 Exige
Z4M
Sierra Cosworth
All of which I would rather have over a mk2. Will be a lot of other cars that I would rank above it at that price as well which I can't think of at the moment.
I wouldn't pay more than 15k for a mk2.
OP is this purely hypothetical? They are both RS Focus variants but one is (roughly) double the price of the other...
