Just think of the number of things that could go wrong on an 18 year old car that's only done 1,000 miles per annum .... rolleyes

Have to say, I'm not feeling much love for the Nintendo Gameboy pictures. No car is 'above' decent marketing and proper photographs IMO.

Was is it with this stty website?
I want to see what you're all talking about but always get an error message when clicking on a PH classified (mobile).

Anyway, as you were -I'm sure it's a lovely car.

Worth it?

As a car, no way.

As an 'investment'? Mmmm, medium to long term, possibly.

Read this article http://p-car.com/diy/alugauges/ and understand how easy it is to retain value in these cars and then like me you will be suspicious of the mileage in any old car regardless of how the advert is worded. I'm not saying for one minute that the car in question has done more than its advertised miles but just how easy it is to hide actual mileage if you are that way inclined.

Absolutely shocking photos! But fair play to him, must be hard to price something like that with so few other (similar) cars on the market to compare.

The good:

- 993 C2
- 18k miles (if it is authentic)
- Polar Silver (looks stunning on the 993 IMO)

The bad:

- £39,995 - buys a lot of more collectable Porsche inc 993 C4S, 996 GT3
- 1994 so a very early non-varioram 993
- Red interior is a marmite colour and I'm sure more won't like than will
- No hard backed sports seats - again marmite but must in my book
- No mention of A/C ( and hard to tell from picture)
- Not a limited number 993 like the RS, C2S, C4S

To me it's missing too much spec and too early to be a really collectable 993 C2 and driving it would be like burning bank notes.

I've only seen Mark's (the seller) 964 C4. He describes it as his tatty daily driver. It is so well cared for that it would put most 964s to shame! Therefore I can only imagine that the 993 is immaculate and everything genuine. Including the mileage.

Anyone who parted with 40 large for that is mad.
Sorry.
Nothing special about it whatsoever, apart from the fact its a low mile run of the mill carrera, don't get it.
Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the car and i'm sure its a nice silver narrow bodied 993.
You could get something exciting for 40k though.

Fair comment but so what?
If 993's are your thing for 40k you can get a nice pretty one such as a C2S or C4S.
Anyway mileage like that on a grandfather clock like this isn't always a good thing trust me.

Don't get me wrong its obviously a nice example but come on a tad boring i'd have thought

Here go's...........................i am going to get stoned to death now by a 993 person tongue out

I think so too, it will sell & go to a good home. I said it at the time but that low mileage mint green 993 that Henry had in was a steal at what he was charging, it even came with the factory rs body kit.

I'll tell you what though.......

You get all these folk wining on about how their 997 & 996 Carreras have dropped in value, you could buy that car, use it as your daily for the next 5 years & still retain 50% of its value.

Now that would be happy driving

Indeed. Spend £40k on a 997 and it would be worth £10k after 5 years and another 75,000 miles.

Do the same with this baby and it will still be worth £20k – at least!!

Thanks for all the interest...
Yup i would agree the picture could be better, but i took them on my Iphone for speed and i think i emailed them to myself at lower res.Anyone interested in the car for actual purchase i will email some sharp pics.An actual viewing is what is needed to appreciate how lovely this car is.
I don't have time to construct a website with blurb and proffesional pics to sell a car sorry.I only need one person to buy it.
The car is very well known car, at OPC Leicester the current sales manager worked in the 90s at Nottingham and was present at time of purchase,i have documentation for the miles driven.Inc Purchase invoice.A history of the cars life is very visable from all of this.
Car is a stunning and faultless condition car,it is what it is,that was the spec we specced in 94,the wheels were chosen for ride comfort at the time, right choice i dunno, but they are what it came on.The seats are very comfortable and in stunning original condition,we later bought a 4S and a 2S new (now sold) and back then i spent the whole day driving them all back to back..for road driving pleasure i prefer the narrow body, not as exotic looking perhaps but feels and looks pure.Yup its not the cheapest 993 C2 on the market but i am confident that someone will see its rarity and worth. It doesn't need any restoration like a cheaper car will, its perfect and ready to go and its original. If it doesn't sell for the figure i am asking i will just keep it.Thanks.

Yes i owned a C4S a few years ago the most boring 911 i've owned to be honest, in terms of road presence though it was on a different page to the narrow body

Yes the mint green one looked nice though and it was different, put it this way you'd look at it twice if it drove past, the miles and the looks sold that car

Here we go again i'm sure anybody who owns a 993 apart from me has a chip on their shoulders about the 996-997 cars, those with money are not bothered about losing a bit of wedge as long as they are enjoying it and drive them often and come on i'd have a 997 at 40k over and over again over a bl**dy silver 993 carrera narrow body for 40k its madness.
