Dilemma - Used car weekend at OPC Tonbridge
Discussion
Just received an email from OPC Tonbridge regarding a used car weekend on the 4th and 5th February. Quick call to see what was on offer as Mrs. James T's six year old Boxster is up for change (amazingly it hasn't blown up yet) and have been offered what appears to be a choice of the last pre-registered and ex-demonstrator old shape 987s for 'cost price'. So, assuming we're going to get kicked in the proverbials for her 2005 36,000 mile 3.2 in what she describes as 'well used' condition (shopping dents and those things for telling when you've reached the kerbs ... ahh yes alloy wheels) is it worthwhile hanging on for the new Boxster at the end of April or diving in for a good deal on what is otherwise a new car? The new one looks brilliant but what's going to lose the least over the next three years a heavily discounted new old shape Boxster or a no-discount new shape one? Is Henry around?

I was emailed a list and it ranged from about £4000 off delivery mileage ones to £15,000 off a fully loaded 5000 mile one. All depends on the cost to change at the end of the day so will see if the old Boxster gets down there without expiring and start negotiating. Mrs James-T quite likes the look of one in clotted cream white.... Hmmm!!

Why do they do that and then get annoyed when you point it out even though the wheels had been refurbished just a week previously and were in nice as new condition describes as 'well used' condition (shopping dents and those things for telling when you've reached the kerbs ... ahh yes alloy wheels) ...

I mentioned their black Spyder as a possible one for the good lady but, a) It's been sold b) It'd be more for my own indulgence rather than a suitable means of transport for her
The black with black and cream leather 911 Turbo S Cabriolet looks rather nice so if I can negotiate that down to £50,000.00 we'll all be happy
In reality I think it's her Boxster and about £110,000 to change...

So, what would you expect a 2005 Boxster S manual in the ever popular Lapis Blue with the ever desirable full leather, 19" multi-spoke alloys with the nice colour crests (and serrated edges, two owners, FPSH, newish tyres, few dings, scrapes, BOSE, pcm nav and telephone, electric seats and lovely blue rear centre console worth? I'll take a flying guess at £9,000....?

You seen the white turbo s sitting in the showroom, admired that for an hour when in their last week, stunning.

Had a dribble at that when I was choosing my 991 options the other day. Seriously gorgeous and amazing car... usable everyday, easy to park, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and I would so lose my license within five minutes of driving it
Only £130,000.00 too...
Your not exaggerating are you, I could have sworn it was 3.2 seconds
Only £130,000.00 too...

The email with the offers on is on my office laptop (which is in the boot of my car, in the locked garage, across the yard in the cold and rain) so fat chance of me digging out tonight!!
You mean you don't need an excuse to have another look at her tonight, make sure she was dry when you put her away and that she is warm enough
