Flatspot on a serento

Hi everyone hope your all ok.
I have a 57 plate Kia serento 2.5 CRDI which has a flat spot in 3rd & 4th gear when i excelerate there is just no response at all for about 3 to 5 seconds.
Can anyone tell me if this is natural with this type of car.

Hi between about 20 & 30 Mph revs down to about 1000rpm car just seems to trickle along untill about 2000rpm then the turbo finally kicks in
