Tri-turbo Diesel, 381 hp, 546 lb-ft, and it'll get over 40 MPG (American) highway...
High performance + Diesel + wagon= WIN

I want to like this car. I'm a car enthusiast to the core, I know that I would love to own this car, and I really want BMW to make a F11 M5 and this is the closet we have so far. However, for some reason I just can’t get excited by it
. TBH, I'm starting to get a bit bored with these mega powerful cars because I feel they are simply getting irrelevant. How much power does one need? Yes, I know it’s nice to know that you have a lot of potential under your right foot, but 99% of the time I simply find it frustrating because once on the move, regardless of what gear you are in, rev the engine past 5,500 rpm and you will be breaking the speed limit by some margin.
I live Germany, so I have the advantage of being able go out onto the Autobahn, floor the accelerator, and properly use the available performance of such a car. However, it isn’t easy given that amount of traffic and the increasing number of KMs with speed restrictions. In nearly every other country on the planet, one cannot even get close to using the full potential on the open road.
On country roads, it is even worse, because to extract proper enjoyment from the chassis one has to be travelling at ridiculous speeds that if the police were to catch you, you would lose your license instantly, and if you were to crash, would probably hurt a great deal. Here in Germany, the police like to hide behind trees and conceal their speed detection equipment so you have next to no chance of actually spotting, and thereby adjusting your speed, the speed trap. Therefore, you are reluctant to open the taps.

That is the attraction for me. It's not about the limits of the law, or the power of the car. If you buy a high performance car you buy it because you want to enjoy the exhilaration that the car provides.. you just have to be more careful about when and where you do it

I've seen the future and it's not looking good...
