Anyone flown with them before?

Going to LA in October and they're coming in at £508 for flights, i read they've updated the long haul fleet with new 777's and have more lag room than most Transatlantic airlines.

Any experience?

Flown with them a few times, they're alright. Last time I went to LA with them, it was the 747. IMO a bit better than BA, not quite as good as Emirates, but the stewardesses did wander up and down the aisles for a good while after dinner offering wine top ups, which was nice!

Air NZ are excellent. It may not be as flash as Emirates, but you get a bit more space in the back.

Their Economy Plus (or whatever it is) offering is good I've heard. Chum went LA with them last month.

+ 2 flew with them to LA in 2010, I can recommend row 56 if you're in cattle class on their 747s, from memory the seat selector on their website gives you the seat pitch for each seat and that was the row I found with the most legroom.

Hmmm, just been on seatguru.com and they reckon that they are now using 777-300s on the LHR-LAX route instead of the 747-400s so the info I posted may not be of much use to you.

Their 747 fleet has been retired now so its the 777-300 for long haul. Their seating plan looks good however, they have the 2 seats at the tail similar to the 747s did.

Very procedure driven and rule based, dollies are witches for it, I fly Singapore who seem to understand what a service culture is.

10 abreast economy in their 777-300s. Not pleasant. I certainly noticed the narrower seats when I flew on one of them last.

If you get the (9 abreast) 777-200 or the 747 it isn't so bad. Service is normally pretty good. The business seats are nice if you can afford it...
