It looks just as bad as the Mini Countryman in my opinion. Horrible.

Read the article, thats just a photoshopped guess at what the car will look like.

Stephen.

Not surprising really as they appear to have photoshopped the rear of the COuntryman roof onto whatever else is in the picture (some elements of the C3 picasso in there too).

Utterly dreadful and abhorent, devalues the 500 in the same way the Countryman devalues the Mini...but somehow even more so...lest hope AutoExpress is wrong, both in the idea and the execution.

There used to be a version of the classic Fiat 500 called the Autobianchi I believe. This was also an awful modification of that little car as well, engine canted over to allow an estate rear door. Maybe that is what they are trying to emulate with this, hopefully the next incarnation will not be like that dread full mini off road thing!!

The Fiat 500 has a rich heritage shared with the 600 which includes not only sporting variants but a Multipla so this makes far more sense historically and has looks which i think will translate into variants far better then the MINI which keeps getting hit with the ugly stick with every iteration.

Useless.

More expensive to buy and to run, less beautiful,...

Next car, please.

The official press release has just gone out on the newswires, and I think it looks pretty awful, with more than a hint of Mini Countryman...

You're right, that is utter gash - MINI with DS3 rear lights.

Yuk, yuk and triple yuk.

Wonder what the US Dodge version will look like.

It turns out that the people at Fiat used the same photoshop pictures as the ones at Auto Express to produce the car - take the back of the roof from the Mini Countryman, windscreen pillars from the C3 Picasso, expand a few parts of the 500 and you have the new car. Very disappointing.

In fairness, it's nothing like as ugly as the Mini variants but it's still unnecessarily unstylish.

Interestingly, if you're a saddo like me, this will be the first Fiat to be built at the old Yugo/Zastava plant in Serbia which they bought a few years ago and have been refurbishing as the Polish former FSO plant where the 500 is made is at full capacity. However, the new Panda will move from Poland to Italy as a result of political pressure from the Italian government to build more cars in their homeland.

Those are NASTY wheel arches!
Think I'd have one over the Mini and the new B-MAx from Ford.... C3 wins overall or maybe the Meriva...

The front looks a lot like a Fiat Dobló van actually, and that certainly isn't a pretty vehicle!

Great disappointment as the original 500 Giardiniera was a lovely little device. Small, simple, clean and practical, (as, of course was the Mini Countryman).
