Hi,

My 964 is currently undergoing open heart surgery to sort out some
typical oil leaks. I've been scratching around looking for improvements
to reduce the risk of a repeat performance in the future. I've come across a U.S. mob called 'Raceware Fasteners'. They sell a stud kit that will not stretch or contort, thus keeping the head affixed to the block (supposedly) consequently eliminating head leakage.

The price works out at about £400 plus p&P plus Gordon Brown's customs commission. Seems a lot for a bunch of nuts & bolts, unless of course it works! Has anyone any experience/knowledge/thoughts about this product?

Cheers

Gordon

I used them in my Lotus Carlton. They are superbly engineered albeit pricey. I had no choice (normal stretch bolts out of production for my application) but I would still recommend them in your case - but only if you are going to keep the car. They are resuable, so you can use them again and again. Good if your engine needs more work or mods in the next 3-5 years or so. If you are selling it in 6 months, don't bother.
