1947/51 Chrysler Windsor "Hearse"

Last week i went with my mate to visit friends in Eire,He took us to see this hearse and in a moment of madness we bought it. Should be deliverd later today so will post better pictures.

Not sure what to do with is now, Restore, Rat Rod, convert to a pick up or just sell it.

That could be gorgeous - given a tidy up it would go down great at Whitby... There's something of an underground cult for these things, people just dying to get involved. What condition is the body in? (Etc. etc......)

I've always fancied one of the "flower cars" from the fifties, often Cadillac based.

Surprisingly very solid, but it has been stored indoors for a number of years.

Restore/re-spray in black - in 'the weeds' with air-ride suspension - junk whats probably flathead six for Hemi!

That glass appears to be pretty flat so replacement should be straight forward, though not inexpensive. Not like it's the front screen of an XKSS...
I'd want modern bulletshatter-resistant glass where possible in any case

Cool buy! I've been craving a barge for awhile. I passed up a genuine bargain deal on a '67 Cadillac Fleetwood Limo not to long ago. Only I would have to add 4 feet to my garage just to keep it dry... Lack of true committment to the idea I guess

Have put it on ebay,Had lots of calls from some very unusual people,One to cut it into a pick up and paint orange, one to convert to a drag strip car, one asked if it would take 5 rows of seats. a van to adevrtise his antique business, a few into rat look cars and many to just restore, also one drive around with fake sculls and a coffin in the back.

Nice hearse. If buying a car in Ireland and someone spits in their hand and says "swap ya for the hearse, boss" - they are p!key and probably referring to their HORSE. Top tip.
