Got ya! Excellent thats all iam saying. Anyone doing dragstalgia? Wont to see some old BMC powered slingshots running or Carpenters daimler. Can they still run if the chassis isnt tagged?

I think they can enter the RWYB as that's what Robin Read has entered in.

as for the funny cars, there is the Time Warp Mustang, Time Garlick looks like he will be testing this year if what I saw in DRC is correct, Risto has brought the old Blue Max Plymoth Arrow and is building it to run on nitro. There is the Wild'r at Heart Charger, but that is methanol, it is said to be changing to nitro when they get a handle on it, but from hearing the spec on the nitro warriors dvd it sounds like the alot motor will have to be changed due to class rules, ie supercharger size and down to one mag. Have also heard Nobby Hills might not be going to aafc route anymore and changing it to a nostalgia funny car.

If this all true then Ill definetly be interested. If entered in RWYB I gather you still couldnt run a car still even if it had a 3 point rollcage? IE: Be nice to see restored Mr Six doing some demos.

Hi Graham.

From what I understand and I have been wrong in the past, the NFC's are required to conform to the safety regs of modern FC's. Some of which are carbon brakes and the Leahey safety shut-off device. On that subject Hockenheim will have the radio beam shut-off device operational this year, even though they have a very long shutdown area.

40 years old. I think it still should be allowed to run an 1/8th mile run though.

Hi Bob

im cirtain alky FCs need the brakes and shut offs so i cant see why the NFC would be any different, also once tracks start getting the transmitter the rules on shut offs will be enforcable Interesting times ahead on that one i think wink

New VRA rules call for carbon rear brakes, and if you run over 240mph carbon front brakes too.

Does the same apply with nostalgia fuel altereds?

NFAA no, as we aren't an adopted class from the US Heritage series. Out of interest we're the only sanctioned fuel altered class in the world smile
