BiTDI engine open for ordering for A6 and A7 ranges
The long-awaited 3.0 Biturbo 313PS engine is now open for ordering on A6 Saloon, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback
models. It will also feature as part of the A6 allroad quattro range coming later this year.
Sound actuator and active sound exhaust system
A new development appears for the first time in the 3.0 BiTDI – an innovative sound actuator integrated in the
exhaust system which enhances the acoustics and perfectly emphasises the performance attributes of the
engine. This feature consists of a speaker located in an auxiliary channel of the exhaust system.
With a modulation method it imposes a defined oscillation pattern on typical exhaust gas noises and, alongside
the power generation of the Biturbo, emits a low, sonorous roar more traditionally experienced on highperformance
petrol engines.

Pricing
Available in SE and S line trims across each model, pricing starts from £43,810 OTR. Please note this engine is
not available on the A7 Standard trim line.

The new Biturbo engine is the third and most potent of
the trio of 3.0-litre V6 diesels available in the A6 and
A7 ranges, delivering a powerful 313PS and 650Nm of
torque. This superb performance powers the A6 saloon
from 0 to 62mph in 5.1 seconds and both the A6
Avant and A7 Sportback in 5.3 seconds. Top speed is
electronically limited to 155mph.
Featuring an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox, best
suited to handling the high torque on offer, it differs
from the existing 204PS and 245PS 3.0-litre TDI
engines which are linked to CVT and twin-clutch S
tronic gearboxes respectively.
