Non executive director?

Thank you, that gives me a much better idea.
What I wasn't able to find however is what sort of renumeration they would be receiving for their role? I'm not talking figures just that they directly draw earnings from their position?
Depends on the size of the business. Ive seen some do it for free, others charge £15k. I've seen those who get paid £40k+ per year for a day or two per month. What I wasn't able to find however is what sort of renumeration they would be receiving for their role? I'm not talking figures just that they directly draw earnings from their position?
If you're considering it, bear in mind your obligations.
I suggest you think carefully about turning up at someone's house, who doesn't know you, who is likely to have no knowledge of the issue, and getting irate / finger waving.
Think how you / your family would feel.
A NEDs role is to give the company advice, monitor the performance of the executive directors, etc. It is not to fend off random complaints outside their family home from angry punters.
Send a professional, polite letter, once you have exhausted normal customer service and complaint channels.

Door stepping was an exageration.Think how you / your family would feel.

I will be delivering letters to each personal address without even knocking on the door.
I wanted to know the status of a non exec officer in case I was challenged, I'm completely non agressive BUT I demand satisfaction when I receive such a dreadful level of service, whilst being repeatedly lied to. Every worm has a point when it turns ;-) (I'm female by the way, not powerfully built and don't have any Directorships!! ;-) )
and Yes I know exactly how I felt when someone did the same to me due to a stuff up on some football cards my husband was promoting (in the Daily Mail, pls don't shoot me!)!!! totally nothing to the rest of us! This chap was powerfully built and I didn't ask about his direcorships, I just made sure he got his additional cards! Trivial but very important to him and I was mortified at the faliure of people that were paid to do a job and clearly weren't doing it.
My issue is an entire weekend, mostly sat on a coach in sub zero temperatures, repeatedly being lied to and treated with utter contempt. I think I'm being quite laid back about it and I'm always up for a road trip so here goes.............
I do hope anyone reading this does pop in the The Lounge or my references to "powerfully built" and "Directorships" are going to go wooosh...........

A bit creepy, and out of order in my opinion. I will be delivering letters to each personal address without even knocking on ..
A letter to them, or preferably the correct complaints channel at the registered office address is in order. The CEO tends to work, so some on here claim.
In the highly unlikely event that it doesn't get put straight in the bin, it'll be passed to the customer services dept to deal with without a second thought. Even if it wasn't done in such an inappropriate way, addressing executive issues like customer satisfaction performance is simply not the remit of a non-exec
I presume it's Thomas Cook as you posted up for help tracking their directors down earlier.
I won't pre-judge you but I do hope that you have actually tried to pursue your complaint though the ABTA guidelines.
If you haven't, do that first. Then maybe complain to ABTA directly, including all the correspondence with regards to your complaint. Putting letters through company directors doors is both arrogant and pathetic.

I make no apology.
You will if you get arrested for harrassment or trespassI'm delivering letters to people that openly put their addresses on the internet as Non Exec / Directors of the company that stole a weekend out of mine and 9 other peoples lives and left us in dreadful conditions.
I could almost accept that but this company treated us with utter contempt, lied to us continually and until I contacted the UK and confirmed what we all knew was true, that we were being lied to. Many hours later we were still being lied to and treated like idiots. The result of my investigations wasn't what we wanted to hear.
So walk a mile in my shoes................ and don't come back ;-)
I know I'm on the right side of the law.
p.s. I would never be agressive or offensive to any individual.
Genuine advice is:
- go via customer services until that route is utterly exhausted.
- send a letter to the "Office of the Chief Executive" of Thomas Cook. There may well be a seperate customer relations team that works for them. Keep going until that route exhausted.
- send to ABTA with a file of information / evidence.
Personal, hand delivered letters to NEDs is not a winner...

Thank you all for your replies.
I was Customer Services Manager, for many years, for two large Tour Operators / Airlines so Yes I know the ABTA code of conduct very well.
So far the replies I have received from my hand delivered letters have been very positive and they appear to be trying to do their best to resolve the situation to their customer's satisfaction.

So I'm not sure why you needed to ask the original question then?
I needed to check their role; as if they are profiting by receiving renumeration and / or are responsible for a company to some degree, then I hope they would be interested to hear about the conduct of the company they are putting their names to.It seems that they are. I'm very grateful for the positive replys I have received so far.

Doesn't really sound like an issue for the NED's. They are generally quite removed from the operations side of a business. You need the Executive Management team.
I'm plesantly suprised that within 24 hours I have received very positive responses and they have passed my comments directly to the NED's and Customer Services.I'm not holding my breath but since being back in the UK I have received an excellent service from the company to date.
