North of Merthyr. A470, head that way, then take yer pick......

You can head up to Builth, go over to Llandovery or Llandeilo even Llyn Brianne. World is your oyster. First trip maybe B4520 out of Brecon then B4519.

Or A4069. Or 4059, but plod does go out to play especially on the weekends.

Pretty much everything north of the A465 is good - B4560 is a personal fav

South of the A465 (In the valleys proper) the best are probably

A4061 over the Rhigos (Hirwaun -Treherbert).

A4107

A4233 Between Ferndale and Aberdare.

The A4069 and A4059 are great roads (not with the weather we are having atm though lol) The local plod are usually out and about just off the A4059 on the A470 near the Storey arms very rarely seen on the A4069thumbup

I used to be in Swansea.

Try this if you are close to there. some is slow but beautiful, some is fast and fun and beautiful. All is good! Check google street maps anywhere on this route to see what I mean.

Start in Port Talbot and head up the A4107 through Afan Forest. Follow all the way up to the A4061 and take a left. This will take you over the Bwlch, stunning.

Stay on the A4061 through Treorchy and head over the Rhigos (mentioned before).

At the big Hirwaun roundabout go straight over up A4059 heading north. You want to get to the A40 and eventually Llandovery but try and get onto the little roads for out of the way beauty. Once in Llandovery head south down the A4069.

Should be good... At the end if you want to find more maybe head left and north east on the A4067 and somehow make your way over to Crickhowell (west of Abergavenny), some great roads around there...

Man need to plan a trip soon!!!

A route I drive twice a day 5 days a week going to and from work in Swansea smile

The B4242 which is the old main road between Neath and Glyneath is usually quiet and good for a quick blast, back when petrol was cheaper I used to do this loop on a Sunday morning.

The B4520 between Brecon and Builth via Upper Chapel is not a fast route, but pretty scenic with a couple of tight sections and the Llanelwedd Arms just over the bridge in Builth used to do a decent meal too, not been for a couple of years now though.
