Did you buy the turntable and amp together? If not perhaps the Riga is using an MC cartridge? Does the Audiolab have a switchable MM/MC phone stage?

Have you got the turn table plugged into the Phono sockets? If not that's yout issue. Turn tables run on a different output than other sources. You can buy a pre-amp to boost the output of the turn table to the required level.

As above, get a phono preamp and plug it into a line level (aux) socket. The better ones aren't cheap though. Would have thought an Audiolab would have a phono stage?

Hello,

You have to get a RIAA preamp that will be plugged beetween the TT output & the aux input on the amplifier.

I'm using atm a Nad PP2 (no longer available, iirc), but a Nad PP2i, Cambridge Azur 640p or Project PhonoBox V will fit and stay on a budget of approximately 100 £.

Hello,

Don't forget to check the cartridge type on your TT (MM or MC) and set the preamp input level accordingly (switch or separated inputs).

MM cartridge are the most common, but a good old Denon DL103 is a MC for example.

The preamps I wrote about support both types.

Kind Regards
