Classic cars on TV?

Last weekend I managed to record an entire series of a programme called Victory by Design. Basically a 1 x hour programme where Alain de Cadenet talks you through classic cars, tests them and gives you a look around ind inside the engine. There were individual programmes on Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lotus, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo. Excellent stuff and I recommend them if you see them. They were on Discovery Turbo channel 523 on my Sky box.

Probably obvious but I like Chasing Classic Cars. Usually on late so I can enjoy it in peace when the wife and kids have gone to bed (which I tend to even if I've plussed it).
Interesting to see the difference between Bonhams auctioneer's style (I think his name is Malcolm) and the American lot not to mention some great cars. Wayne wossname who is the main guy is probably the quietest, calmest American on TV.

Yup, Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers are two of my favourites. Not cars, but I also like Cafe Racer as well.
I'm in the market for a classic at the moment but catching cafe racer by accident as its always on before chasing classic cars nearly had me buying a bike (a bobber rather than a cafe racer but one google leads to another eh). Lack of a bike license didn't bother me for that week of searching. Wife declaring bikes are banned did.
I love them all!
Victory by Design - Alain de Cadenet isn't shy with his right foot and the makers seem to understand that the sound of these cars is a huge part for most people.
Chasing Classic Cars - Wayne Carini (http://www.f40.com/) must have a contact list as long as your arm. What is often surprising about this programme is the variety of stock that you glimpse in the background.
I appreciate that he is often buying or selling on behalf of clients at auction but his nonchalant manner when the bidding goes way beyond 6 figures is stunning... His knowledge across such a broad spectrum of makes and models is outstanding.
As has been mentioned, the US auction houses (i.e. Mecum) use a selling technique that would not be amiss in an East End market. I think some of these auctions will feature over a thousand cars in 2 days (correct me, if I am wrong) but if I was a seller I would be nervous of not getting the best price.
Wheeler Dealers - gets loads of stick on here, primarily Mike Brewer saying - 'old owt yer 'and - but other than that it's a good programme. It has given me some confidence to tackle certain jobs. I suspect that industry experts will throw their hands up in the air at some pieces but it is meant to be entertaining and accessible to the average man.
