If you drive a C4S 996 and take your toddlers out in it, which seat do you use for the back does it fit and is there leg room for toddler and front passenger?

Currently I have a Recaro in there, but this is just a swap from my wife's Audi. It's ok but my toddler gets very little leg room and the front passenger seat has to come full forward. It doesn't make for much comfort for them when they want to drive out with me. I take the leather base seat out.

There is a long thread on the forum about car seats, but understanding it is like decyphering a pile of spaghetti!

Many thanks for any straightforward answers.

996c4s..... I have a Porsche child seat which fits well, decent leg room for my 21 month son and good enough for front passenger too.

Does that need ISOFIX?

Can be used with ISOFIX or can be fitted with seatbelts

Thanks, I see you did not need to remove the leather base seat to get a good fit, and behind the drivers seat so prsume driving position not affected.

The pic is just one I found on the net, but no you dont need to remove the seat base.

The best thing about the seat is that the child is held in with a part of the seat and not the seat belt so very safe if you were to be involved in an accident.

MaxiCosi Rodi, uses belts to anchor. Perfect fit for my 996 C2

Thanks Sparks - is the belt used in a normal passenger 'over the shoulder' way or via a harness (eg shoulder straps either side)?

I have a 996 c4s and the only seat that I could find that properly fits is the one from Porsche. About £150 I think. A trip to OPC for you..

Visit an OPC...sounds an incredibly dangerous thing for me to do!

They are both held by the 'over the shoulder' method.
