Cracked Block

I have just taken the plunge and bought a 1935 Standard Ten. There is a small crack in the engine block and it leaks a very small amount of water when being driven.

Has anyone used any of the leak sealants that are available on a car this old. I found something called Formula-X (http://www.shop4glue.com/water-leak-sealer-formula-x-engine-gasket-head-water-pump-radiator-cracked-head-block-leak-repair-524-p.asp) but I don't want to pour something in that will do more harm than good.

Any experience of these products would be useful.

I had a classic car a number of years ago (Lea Francis 14HP Sports Special) and it had a cracked block.

I ground it out and filled it with DevCon, which is a two pack 'plastic' steel. I ran the car for a couple of years without incident.

I did get the block changed out once I found an original replacement (hens teeth !).

Ive used 'Silver seal, ironized block seal' on many occasions in the past. Was amazed at the size of cracks it would seal and how long it would last.
Used it on a V6 essex lump on e time with a sizeable crack in side of block , had the car for a further 3 years without any issues before i replaced engine ( nothing to do with crack).
Not cheap but highly recommended
