Per the thread title really. I would very much like to switch from glasses to contacts but I'm having a really hard time even getting over the first hurdle which is touching my eyeball without flinching massively. I have a hard enough time putting in eye drops!

Other than the standard PH advice - MTFU, etc - has anyone been in the same situation and how (if at all) did you get overcome it?

Persevere. Keep touching the whites only and you'll be fine with it in no time.

I guarantee I was as bad if not worse than you when I started!

My prescriptoin specified hard lenses only too which made it worse! You've just got to stick with it! Initially you'll struggle to get them in and out but Rome wasn't built in a day! You'll soon find your knack and then you'll be away.

Good luck smile

Softs should be the way to go. Larger and you can plonk them on the whites and they will slide into place. Removal involves siding onto whites and gently pinch. Really wont take long to get used to them.

Try being a tiny bit drunk. Just a couple of shots of whiskey or something, it'll dull the sensations a bit and make you less likely to flinch.
