How to re-sync imobiliser key fob?

I've been disconnecting my battery whilst working on the car. When I re-connect the battery I click the fob and the fob allows the car to remote lock.

However the keyfob no longer de-activates the imobiliser. Is there a sequence that needs to be followed to pair them?

I can still start the car with the 'key' part of the fob in the USB like plug on the dash.

I have also been doin this since battery change. ok in the day time but at night its a real pain looking for the slot.

2) With the working fob, activate/deactivate the alarm 8 times (i.e. 8 x on, and 8 x off) the alarm will not take any more actions beyond this anyway. All other fob details will be deleted at this point (apart from the one used for the 16 actions).

3) Within 8 seconds, activate the new fob, the system will respond with a change of state (it may require a couple of attempts), the details of the new fob are then added to the data held by the system unit.

6) Your new fob(s) and the original one will now be synchronised with the system.

The meta systems can only take 3 fobs i.e. two original fobs plus one replacement fob, but I suspect this means a total of three fobs in the list of usable fobs.

I've tried this sequence and after 8 arm/disarms when I click the fobs there is a single flash. However it doesn't seem to have synced them up again

It might be worth disconnecting the battery again and immediately as you are reconnecting the terminal, hold the button on the fob and it should sync.

Not sure where I read this, so don't quote me on it.

BUT

I've pulled the battery out of my '01 baby over a dozen times and had no probs with either Fob for starting.

I've done this and it works. Had to do it a couple of times about 5 years ago, but never had to do it since!

Have you called Carl Baker yet? Contact details on www.tvruk.tv and I suspect this would give a much quicker result.
