Spyder headlight bulbs

After having a decent drive at night I've realised the standard headlights aren't brilliant ( non xenon).

I've looked at PIAA's and the E marked bulbs to fit the Boxster draw 55w but put out 100w.
Surely these are too bright for our roads? ( but like I say, E marked).

Anyone upgraded the halogens and what have you used?

Concerned about melting the wiring.

Looking at reviews on the web. I went for Phillips x-treme vision. They come out top ever time. £20 delivered from amazon.

Thought boxser s and spyder are fitted with the low power xenons?

If its a normal 987 lamp then there is a thread on boxa net recommending Ring and Osram bulbs.

Mine are just the lightweight halogens.

Nope, no different to the OE bulbs.
Waste of money.

I had a similar problem with my Ducati. Swapped out for Osram Nighbreakers and was relatively pleased with the results, but they weren't cheap IMO.
