Was fitting some new lamp holders and connectors today and remembered I have a set of lightly tinted rear lenses on the shelf. I have held off putting them on as I am unsure as to their legality, especially at MOT time. I cannot see any BSI type marking on them. do any of you have these fitted and have you encountered any hassle either from the police or MOT people?

Cheers,
Paul

I may be wrong but I'm sure as long as they flash the correct colour and there is a reflector showing they are legal

You can get stick on reflectors and remove after the mot if required

mine are OEM escort re turbo so no mot issues. if yours are std ones sprayed then you may fall foul if the reflector has also been covered

I agree with above - I've never had any problem with the ones I've fitted, which were also for Ford Escorts originally.

Thanks all.

Mine look like they have been manufactured as smoked and not OEM ones sprayed, but I couldn't find any markings on them. Maybe I'll chance it.
