Need help re-inserting

Whilst removing the fuel rail in order to install upgraded inlet manifolds, two of the injectors came out of the fuel rail and I can't seem to get them back in! Have actually damaged one of the rubber O-rings trying to push it in, so will have to get a replacemnt, but in the meantime, is there a knack to this? Have tried applying a little grease, but the O-rings just seem to big for the gap and squeeze out when I push in.

It's the O-ring at the top that I'm having issues with.

Small smear of silicon grease and just push. They do go in. Just try a little more pressure.

You should only use engine oil on the o-rings really.

Remember the silicone and Tesco fuel incident.

Tried a bit more pressure, hence the damaged O-ring. Will wait for the new one to turn up, and try again.

I found this, if you tease the o-ring (when o-ring is on the injector) in with a corner of a plastic ruler(where it doesn't want to go down!) until it's in the inlet hole (making sure it is not sharp, the ruler that is!)then should just pop in, also twist too. Grease the inlet as well as o-ring. Put in fuel rail first!

It's a nightmare, with my skimmed heads the only way I could fit the fuel rail was by loosening the intake manifolds, seating the injectors, then re-tightening the intakes. Good luck.

That sounds like a plan, I was thinking the 'tease' route may be the way forward. Cheers ears.
