I nominate myself. Even after 25 years of car ownership, I still insist on keeping my cars spick & span.

If I get my cars dirty, I invariably wash and chamois them (inc. all door shuts) and take them for a quick spin to dry off thoroughly before I put them back in the garage. Our cars have covers on the backs of the front seats to protect them from the kids' shoes. I cover the rear seat cushion when the children are on board. I even lift the kids into and out of their child-seats to prevent them scratching the door sills of my cars. They have foot mats front and back. The paintwork is factory fresh. The engines are clean. The rims are as new. The wheel arches are hosed clean. The classic has a car cover and is wired to a battery conditioner. On those rare fine days in winter I insist on taking it out for a run to ensure all is well. I keep a daily log of mileage and fuel for my work car. I will only use a petrol station pump that is available on the filler cap side of my car. If it looks like rain on a non-work journey, I will take my wife's car, which lives outside. Like all normal people, she does none of the above!

I have a problem, don't I? laugh

AHHH. OCD yes, I think we may all have to a degree.

Can't bear the children putting their hands all over the glass, feet on the seats and litter everywhere makes my waters boil and the good lady wife then advises me to relax which does exactly the opposite. I have the clean the interior of the car two to three times a week but then thats my fault entirely for having a cream interior and two teenage children.

OCD in my case does take other routes as well (more concerningly) and examples are my having to have all of the air ventes set at the same height and direction, any volume or control knobs must be on an even number and I have to leave the electric mirror adjustment knob on the central point and not either left or right.

OCD is the only thing that is keeping me sane, me thinks.

That's not OCD - that's normal.

(Your spelling is wrong tho'!)

Not anal enough.

Chamois should be replaced by a drying towel, less chance of scratching the paint.

Wash and chamois should be replaced by:

Wash
dry
clay
clean
polish
wax
seal
detail

At the other end of the spectrum

My car leaves little piles of mud whenever it rains

In my normal parking space at work there is 4 small piles of mud marking where the wheels normally sit

It's not OCD - It's CDO.

Same thing - but unless it's in alphabetical order my whole family will die.

Went to change the sidelight bulbs on Saturday and ended up removing the wheel arch liners, engine cover, air box & battery cover to give them a good clean.

I don't have OCD, I have CDO, it's much the same but with the letters in the correct order.

There's been a lonely looking half slice of Warburtons Fruit bread in the rear footwell the past week.
Asked my 7 year old daughter to chuck it in the bin this afternoon.
Do I win?
