Hi all,

I am soon to be the proud owner of my first TVR. Its a Chimp 500 and as its the first one I have owned I spent the last 4-5 months watching the classifieds/forums/autotrader etc and find myself scrutinising everything I see.

On this particular Chimp I am purchasing I have noticed that the Speedometer as a digital lcd where it records the mileage and not analogue as I have been told they all were.

I understand that I may never find a Trev that is like for like as they are all handmade and built to the original owners spec, but is there anyone else out there that as a 400/450/500 with this type of speedo and are they more reliable at recording than the analogue one?

Yep - my 2000 W Chim has a digi-read out.

I think this came as part of the late 90's facelift - along with the cerb rear/front.

My '94 Griff had a digital mileometer [as did my 2000 griff and present 2000 Chimaera]and for some reason the '94 clocked up 1 mile whenever the ignition was turned on or off so backing the car out of the garage, washing it and putting it away clocked up 4 miles!! Don't worry about it.

Now I am begining to worry! I have put a deposit down to pick the car up this Saturday. Have you seen this car before? I saw the car last week and went over it as best I could. The dealer said that the present owner had had the chassis treated!

Advice greatly apprieciated!!
