OK I've read on here that some garages are more "TVR-friendly" for MOTs than others and that some MOT tests can actually do a Chim no good depending on what equipment is used to carry them out so ...
Anyone in the Portsmouth area willing to recommend a good MOT garage?
Any other advice on what to ask about/check before putting it in for an MOT with a non-recommended garage?
TIA

Yep Fernhurst. The only people I trust with my car.
Well normally I use APM who I fully trust (Andy prep'd the car for Adrian Blyth for me and I've stuck with him) but AIUI he isn't MOT registered.
This means I'd have had to get it done at a 'trusted' garage (such as the one that did it on the morning of the day I picked it up last year!) but if there was a problem I'd have to wait for Andy to do the work which at this time of year ...
If Fernies do MOTs (and can fit me in) then it'll be much easier since I trust them to fix anything they find wrong.
Hopefully there'll be nothing wrong of course!
Thanks to all ... took it to Fernies on Monday and got the excellent treatment often talked about by their customers on this board. Chim was passed within 45 minutes of them starting the test (which was bang on the time it was booked in).
This just left me the rest of the (sunny) afternoon off that I'd had to take to explore the A roads around the area and back down to Portsmouth via the A286 to Chichester
