Now that looks nice.

Kia are making some handsome cars at the moment.

They do, indeed. Although the Sportage looks rather silly with their version of DRLs.

I think Kia are doing really well with their designs, seem to have the corporate DNA sorted too with the grille, seems to pull the range together nicely.

I posted a thread about the Optima a while back, looks really nice, about $22k CAD for a good one, tempted!

I think there cars have come on a long way! I'd say they are a lot more intersting than some budget Euro and Jap rivals.

Saw one on the road last week, looked really nice except for those goddamned awful wheels.

Probably true, although IMO close enough not to be ruled out if the deal is right. The fact that we can even be having thi conversation is progress.

Quoted from Autocar

'Should I buy one?
If you don’t, you should certainly have a damned good reason. Equipped with care, this Optima is an undeniable equal of some of Europe’s long-established, highly accomplished saloons. With sporting handling, distinctive styling and abundant value for money on the Kia’s side, in fact, it’s not difficult to imagine the open-minded giving up a VW Passat, Vauxhall Insignia or Ford Mondeo for one. Not difficult at all'.

It is indeed, Don who does the voiceover smile

The Optima (which starts at under £20k) is a hell of a lot of car for the money. Like all Schreyer Kias, it's got sales success written all over it.

They look really nice, but the quality just sort of looks off, not the same as a golf. im sure its brilliant in the real world but it just looks sub par.
ide own one without those wheels

26k for a top spec with leather, better stereo, xenons etc is a bargin and a 7 year warantee

Isnt their head designer someone who was high up in the Audi design team previously ?

I agree with other posters, they really are upping their game, and that 1.7 diesel they've developed with Hyundai isnt a bad unit at all.

The new Rio is also the most economical car on sale, in 1.1 diesel format ?

Private buyers will be swayed by the warranty though.
