As title really - quite a few sold in the last few months, now even more for sale. Str8Six seems to be taking over the s/hand Sagaris market too.

I would say it's due to there value being so high

A lot of people are making 15k on what they paid 3 years ago

MAYBE. You may well be right but I think it's agreed that most of us are spending 4-5K P.A on our cars. Don't seem to be covering much mileage in that time either. But still, yes, it was a shrewd move!

That spend on a Sagaris? Bought mine in 2005. The most I've spent in any year is £1500 - that was for a major service an a new rad.

time will tell, though IMHO prices will keep on rising and they still have a fair bit to go.....

funny how times change, 18 months ago str8six were selling t350`s like hot cakes, and hardly any Sags going thier way, I know as I was hoping Jason would source one for me at that time, and ended up at racing green as they had more sags at that time, now Jason has a fair selection for sale at a price that must reflect the market, Fernies have been asking high prices on SE griffs for a while now and getting the sales apparently so why do we tend to knock it?

we often ask ourselves "if I sold my tvr what could I replace it with for similar money?"

asnwer being, nothing! £20k to £50k for a decent tvr with bonkers performance and looks will set you back £70k plus for something else, italian or other?

and if you own a tvr then great, if you do ever decide to sell then you could be quids in.

Ref the Str8-Six / Racing Green and 18 months.... there is a certain car saleman that also fits with that description and timescales!

As for the cost factor.... I too have only spent £1500pa until the (self-enforced) rebuild.

This is what I was hinting at - not that they NEED the spend but that people are doing engine/suspension/wheels/cosmetic work on top of regular servicing which is making the cars more attractive. But I may well be wrong; and am in the T350 camp where I accept things are different.

Isn't it just great that we own a marque of car where the owner community (and the indies and dealers that are left) are just so enthusiastic about maintaining and improving the cars ?? I just love the fact that so many of the cars are really very well looked after and we love 'em. The fact that they are so rare even compared to what we call Exotica is an added bonus !!! I can't believe how so many little kids stop and stare and point at mine biggrin

Not many other brands have what we have.

Add in the sheer Smiles per Pound a TVR gives you compared with all the other stuff I've never owned, would quite like to experience/own, but probably won't ever be able to afford, and, despite the niggles like door seal leaks and other build quality issues, even on Sags, they really "do it" for the owner.

Many Sag owners seem to want to keep their P&J for a long time now, which will only make them more valueable too I suppose (up to a point), but at the moment, the value is immaterial to me.

I spent about 2k on a big 12,000 mile service and fixing other bits/minor mods in my first 9 months. Spent more than that on Petrol hehe

If someone wants to pay c£50k for a Sag as an investment punt then fine. Is it worth the sometimes enormous premium over a T350, Tamora or Tuscan of the same age in terms of performance ? - no way and looks-wise I think the Sag looks a bit daft - accessorized from Halfrauds. If i had £50k burning a hole in my pocket it would go on a Ferrari 355.

The thing is customer demand has but the prices up. They are rare cars and the last designed with peter wheeler. Its and end of an era car and they went out with a good one. What gets me is the design was shown in 02/03 and it still does not look anymore dated. With the world/country turning soft its brought more people to the brand and the work that TVR indies like power should really be applauded because with out there warranties and development alot of potential customers would not dare to try them. T350's will go up you watch. 05 good examples will be £30k end of the year. The fact is t350 prices cant go up until sag prices give them room to do so. I'd buy a few if I could :0) Then with the profit when I sell them Get a Sag.

You have obviously got a passion for the 355 hence why you would spend 50k on one. Its a great car but I'm sure there is plenty of people out there that would prefer a newer 360 instead as its newer and faster etc. But me and you know it lacks a little ferrari buzz when compared to a 355.

Sags are that little more expensive than T350's for the same reason CSL's are a little more than M3's. 360CS are than 360's etc.

This is exactly what I found and what attracted me to buy one in the end. I went to dealer he wanted to make sure I was up to the ownership experience first, making sure that I would treat the car with the love it deserved. I enquire with an Indie regards what to look out for, he gets protective over the cars and questions whether I should be looking at a TVR at all if I'm not going to drive it enough to keep it in tune. He services it now and is happy to hear that I take it out at any opportunity of dry weather. I just love the passion in the community.
