According to the MSA blue book (2012) you can get a "Clerk of the Course" signature (need 6 to be able to apply for National A) from:
- Marshalling
- Taking and Advanced ARDS course

Anyone know anything about the Advanced ARDS course? I can't see much info online about it, other than one page on the MSV website. Do you know if Silverstone does this?

I think that the "Advanced ARDS Course" refers to the 5 day one that Silverstone used to do, which included a race on the Stowe Circuit at the end of it. However, i think that Silverstone stoppe doing it several years ago. Best to check with them.

^ Ok cheers. I think I'll drop the MSA an email then. (I certainly can't see anything about ARDS Advanced Course on Silverstone's website.)

OK, I have a vested interest here, but, as a marshal, I'd recommend every driver seeking an upgrade to do a day's marshalling. You'll learn a lot - maybe even why you should slow down for waved yellows!angel

Be a good idea to make that compulsory every couple of years.

Agree with this - went for a Marshalls taster day at the end of last year - as budget ran out for racing but still wanted to be involved - at Donnington for the masters racing series weekend, although the weather was terrible in the morning I loved every minute of it and am hooked, will be registering as a marshal for this year and trying to get out to do a few weekends
