Cheap for a Supercharged Chimaera?
That's quite an impressive spec and looks like a good price, but bearing in mind it's an old car, it's 'only' a 4-litre and it has a few cracks on the dash etc. (according to the ad) I wouldn't say it's suspiciously cheap.Definitely worth a look if you're in the market, I'd say.
it was for sale mid to late last year and sparked off a thread on here.
the bonnet union jack is to cover a crack/hole in the bonnet arising from the 'charger placement.
this would have been a "home build" car, not to be confused with the SC Power supercharged conversion as fitted to 40+ cars and developed over a period of years, which uses the Rotrex centrifugal charger. This car may be great/it may not be, but a bit of an unknown quantity
ETA - 450Nick might be selling his 450 supercharged chimaera, no question that's a proper job, if you want to explore a good known quantity example, but it wont be £11k !

I contacted this guy asking about the Mapping, its still on the standard chip with an ajustable regulator which is a bit crude, could do with eather a Mark Adams remap or new after market ECUthe bonnet union jack is to cover a crack/hole in the bonnet arising from the 'charger placement.

Got to be wary of these radical engine rebuilds, particularly since reading of JD's experiences.
Depends very much on the company, but I'd say that was somewhat unfair as a general statement. My engine blew just 27,000 miles after the TVR factory assembled it, it with no signs of abuse. Personally I'd trust a reputable after-market engine builder at least as much following that experience.

I agree there are engine builders we talk about on here whom I would have total confidence in,and JD must have felt the same when he handed his car over. It just shows there are exceptions to the rule.My engine blew just 27,000 miles after the TVR factory assembled it, it with no signs of abuse. I bet thats exciting 40mph speed limit .. My brother lives close to St Ouen`s bay windy ridge
Yes of course I never go past the limit officer, that would be irresponsible and wreckless, but fun in the right places.
Think you mentioned him before as I'd posted a pic of mine around that area although I've never heard of windy ridge and assume you mean either L'Etacq or more likely La Pulente which would fit that description.

I'm also an islander with a Chimaera. Uncle, do you know of a Jersey/CI TVR club?
You may laugh at the local limits, but there are some great roads here, especially late at night, no fixed speed cameras and some of the rarest and most sought after cars in the Brit Isles. Of course, France is 60 mins on the ferry too- a lot less congested than UK roads...
