Water Pipe question

I'm in the process of making some water pipes and having seen that the originals are different to the ACT versions. I know ACT are generally excellent for there improvements over standard parts, but what difference is there in having the off take at the different angle than the standard with is more a "T"

I've circled the area i mean



Here are my water pipes i'm making, just need to TIG weld them and clean them up. I've been copying the ACT ones, but have increased the bore slightly

I started off by making a pipe beading tool



which evolved into this one





made the bosses on the lathe, and tapped them for the ECU sensor and for the SPA gauge sensor



I had long life exhaust mandrel bend the pipe but think the mandrel they had was for bigger pipe and caused some flatting, but shouldn't affect flow

I used a hole saw to cut the holes in the pipe






ACT to the left


Tacked together ready for welding.




Hopefully have them ready sometime this week, not that the weather is any good to fit them

My original pipe was the same configuration as the ACT stainless - a 2000 4.5, if that helps.

I suspect TVR changed pattern part way through. So what's new, eh!

Mines a 2004 4.5 and when looking its the straight one so haven't a clue which one. Perhaps might be best to make it straight?

Good work that man!

Now personal circumstances have improved, will be looking to remove my engine soon, but still no rush on returning the pipes.


And ur right about the weather...Im waiting for a little while
