On track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PbV55zOpHk&fea...

My only worry is what the value of the car would be post conversion, can't imagine it would be much.

From what I have read its around £20-30k for the engine and brake upgrade. Some of them have had an extra GT3 radiator fitted. I would assume 50% of that is labour costs.

Got to be worth £5k on resale max?

My sarcasm detector is busted.

Seriously? £20-£30k?

If you look at the Autofarm price list for the engine, it looks like £9k just for the part.

The one in the youtube vid also has steel GT2 brakes - can't be cheap to acquire and fit.

There is also the additional GT3 central radiator.

BTW, the Autofarm Cayman "3.7RS" is up for sale on their website for £39k.

Wasn't there a dealer trying to sell a Cayman with a 3.8 last year. From what I remember, they wanted circa £40K for a 2007 car although it did have some Techart body stuff on it too. It was for sale for ages, no idea if it still is or not.

I suppose thats possible. However, assuming the owner really wants a mid-engined car, then he must be able to truly discern the handling traits of both configurations at and over the limits of adhesion and recognise the subtle different driving styles required.

Such a driver would be an experienced wheelman or a 'hand'. Surely such a person would go GT3/GT3RS?
