Hi all,

Reversing out of my garage this afternoon and onto the road (a fairly tight turn) i felt the sensation of 'grabbing' or 'scrubbing' from the rear wheels.

Now i haven't driven the thing for 4 months and may have forgotten this occurence but is it just the diff working at slow speed with a tight turning circle?

No curious noises etc when driving down the road.

Also what kind of feedback could i expect from the front if the SH droplinks were fitted slightly out of line? I'm confident they are ok but worth an ask.

I had a rear wheel bearing failure that gave a strange sticking sensation when reversing, but that usually emitted a loud clonk when you moved forward again. The outer race has a rib between the two rows of balls; a piece of the rib had fractured out and was getting caught in the balls (as we all know, not a good place to get anything caught biggrin)

One of the joys of owning and tinkering with the Wedge. Do something new and you get a whole set new noises to enhance one's paranoia!!

My old 400se used to do this Plus you'd get a hop and a groan when turning VERY tightly at low speeds. In the end I had the diff rebuilt at GKN. They said the clutch packs needed replacing as one was worn more than the other. Anyways, even with the rebuild the car still groaned and hopped at low speeds from time to time.
I remember that someone suggested an alternate lube (or additive) for the diff might help, on the basis that the TVR back end is so much lighter than the Jaguar that the diff was more commonly used in, but I don't know if Team Central (who serviced the car at the time) used this

Jim , it won't , I had the same thing as you , gripping at back wheels going slowly backwards , a bit like being in low range with a landcruiser/landrover , grabbing . Worried me at the time but realised it was me being paranoid .

Would the new 16x9's on the back exaggerate it?

Mine did that not long after i bought it back in olden days (2000),whilst reversing the rear nearside wheel started turning outwardseek Had a look and one of the bolts going through the hub had broke in half, limped home and replaced the lot with lots of copper slip. Had to get my well endowed passenger to lay across the back of the parcel shelf to lump some more weight on my side, booby was tickling my neck!bounce
