Like a prat I bought a new Evo X back in November, as I thought it would tick all right boxes, but at a fraction of the price of a "normal" car for me.

As a lesson to all, it didn't, so today I picked up my nice shiny new M3. It's a revelation, just what I was after originally. Thankfully a bit of hard negotiating meant I didn't lose out too much on the Evo.

Happy days.

Piccies will follow once I see it in daylight, or if there's any interest.

Well certainly lower division, M3's are so slow compared to my Evo VI, its been fettled a lot though.

I've a foot in both camps so just teasing!

Just too hardcore to be practical for me. Suspension was a bit of a pain, but liveable. Grip and drive, especially when "making progress" were exceptional. The true killer was the thimble sized tank, I need more than a 170 mile tank range and filling up every day was a PITA. I'm not bothered about economy, but it just felt like I was always planning the next fuel stop moments after filling up. Plus the SST was a bit jerky, it felt like an SMG box form 10 years ago.

Btw, loved the gizmos in the SatNav screen though, especially the voice recognition on the phone, it even compensated for my monotone Northern drawl. biggrin

170 mile tank range is comical and I can fully appreciate why that would annoy, irrespective of not being overly concerned with MPG.

So is this a new M3 you've bought or an AUC one?

You can say that again. My mate has never been so disappointed as he was when he sold his evo fq360 for an e46 m3, worst car mistake he has ever made so he says.

12 years of owning an Evo mean I'm quite happy with the range on the E60 M5 I've just bought!

Nice car, always loved white.
