surely not? you can get a whole car done for less than 2 grand or 2 grand if its done properly so almost half for just a bonnet sounds steep

What my garage would charge if I offered our services to the public,

About 14 hours labour 240 for paint and materials. Granted you could get a cheap job else where but what material do they use?

first quote from a recommended local place was 400 quid for the bonnet, stone chips around the lights, blended into the front wings and a large scratch on the back wing, i thought that seemed ok? far cry from 600 quid just for a bonnet lol

Try Webbs Autos in Nailsea (used to work under the banner of TVR Bodyshop).

Hi Andy i would go and check there work out, to be honest i do a bit of painting myself and that quote is very low, using proper paints and taking the time to make it look like its not been painted i would want over a £1000 and i havent got an oven!

last time i went there was when i first bought the car and they seemed completely disinterested in sorting out my issues, they ripped me off 250 quid for doing practically nothing and said eveything was ok when it was far from ok, i heard they folded? i wouldnt be surprised with what they do, or didnt do, ok that was mechanics, i have heard their body repais are ok, however i found out shortly after i went there that they had done some back end work on my car a year or 2 before i bought it, that was when i noticed the webbs autos number plate and then noticed that the boot lid dont close properly so i guess their body repairs are shabby too, so i wont be going back there and giving them any more of my money lol

that still sounds expensive though, can you not get a whole car sprayed, 'properly' for 2 grand? in which case 400 sounded about right for a scratch, bonnet and blended around the lights, the company is in south liberty lane bedminster if anyone on here knows it, he been there 30 years, so cant be that bad surely?
