I'm no handyman so appreciate some help please PH.

Fisher & Paykel hob, a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason one of them is so tight it feels totally locked, can't move at all. I suspect it's the downwards motion that has locked it, you know how they don't go anti clockwise without down for spark.

Subsequently others started sticking in that they are stuff and not bouncing back, so I've turned the spark off and resorting to lighters.

It seems fairly obvious to me that something sticky has seeped in but I can't be sure. My questions are; is there anything else it could be and how to fix, or, if it's sticky switches, how to clean?

Thanks in advance, any help appreciated.

Most hob controls pull off vertically from the hob, Harley any are held on with any mechanical fixing( still worth checking for grub screws etc) take knob off and check for anything obvious in or on the mechanism.

If there's nothing obvious then I would replace the knob and call fisher and paykel to get hold of the local service engineer. If its under a year old, will be fully guaranteed.

Despite f&p being from new Zealand they have uk based sub contracted service engineers.

Hope this helps.

Thank you sir, yes, they come off, I've done all that but doesn't shed any light. Probably looking at getting the professionals in then.

Cheers.
