Does anyone prefer this?

What's your view on it?

On a long journey I prefer to slip my shoes off as it's more comfortable, and I find I have much greater control / feel smile

AHHAAA!

I do this on long journeys, keeps concentration going as you have to adjust driving style, especially at roundabouts etc.

Dont like the smell so much!

I was under the impression it wasn't allowed?

Either way, I have a very ratty old pair of Puma Speedcats which I use for such occasions. I used to have a brilliant pair slip ons for the job but they desolved

I also thought this was illegal.

I do it sometimes though, after working on the bar for 8+ hours.. It's much nicer to drive with no shoes on.

On the (few) occasions I've tried it I haven't liked it. I agree with the greater feel you get but I don't feel as 'in control', if that makes any sense? Bizarre, I know.

(Btw OP, that's a great website you have cool )

Do it sometimes, love it. You can heel toe properly with so much more feel.

I think it is in Jockistan.

I do it here, usually wearing flip flops in the summer so driving bear foot is much more comfortable.

Flip flops are bloody dangerous to drive in. They can easily fold up and prevent you pressing the pedal.

I discovered this rather quickly in Oz, so drove everywhere barefoot instead. It's a nice way to drive but if the pedals are stiff it can be tricky to put the correct pressure on, as your foot tends to be squidgier than a shoe.

I gone outside in just my socks a few times just to move a car or pull it onto the drive and it just feels a bit odd! I certainly wouldn't fancy driving any distance with no shoes on.A comfy pair of lightweight trainers will do thanks.

It takes a few minutes to get properly used to it, then it's very nice, imo.

Unless I'm going a very short distance I always take my shoes off.
A previous poster asked if it is illegal? - Personally I couldn't give a toss if it is legal to drive barefoot or not, I have size 15 feet and I have much better control/feel on the pedals driving without shoes.

As already stated, when wearing flip flops in summer (obviously unless you're mental) it's always best to slide them back under your seat and drive barefoot. It feels weird for a bit, but is quite nice once you're used to it. Quite like it when your foot grips the pedals, again a funny sensation, but one you get used to

I think I'm going to have to ask for pictures of your feet at this point, if you would be so kind sir.

I prefer driving in bare feet, it gives you better feel for the pedals. Makes it harder to heel and toe though.

I don't do it, however suspect that maybe an auto is better without footwear? Agree on flip flops - dangerous!!!

On long distances, all the time.

Is it really against the law?. Who on earth was bored enough to think up a law against it?. Is there a standard that foot coverings have to meet to satisfy that law?. I got some socks from my last long haul flight that have rubber gripper patches on the sole, would that suffice?. Would it still be considered a sock if I wore regular socks under them?.

Would conventional shoes still qualify if you put a pair of socks on over them as I have actually seen that done.

Internet says it's legal. And also throws up many fetish videos. It takes all sorts...
