Do You Have A Tow Car?

This is for owners/drivers of cars, particularly 4X4's that tow.

I was following a Toyota Land Cruiser at the weekend. It was fitted with a tow hitch and had a shiny chrome plate between the ball and the back of the bumper.

If you have such a thing, can you please dull it with something, because I and (I presume) everyone else was dazzled by my own head lights reflecting off it.

Never thought to fit one between my towbar and bumper but seems like a good idea now.
I thought a towbar was enough of a deterrent to stop people from tailgating but clearly not. Couldn't even see his headlights but it was getting late and cold so thought brake testing him wasn't a good idea.

My Cayenne is used for towing, but the ball hitch is removable and only used when the trailer is attached. THere is nothing reflective.
