Any experience of the above sound system brand in your car?

I have it in my 330ci and I have to be honest, its nothing special. Anything is better than the standard BMW offering though.

Agreed! My 530d has an awful standard sound system, business i think its called. Had an A6 with the concert system and it was fantastic!

It is in a Saab I am looking at getting and is apparently a costly upgrade when new!?

My Discovery has it - it adds extra mid range speakers, a big amp and a better subwoofer. I just listen to Radio 4 though.

Depends which make/model/age.

Coincently all 3 of our cars (bought used) have it - an M6, a 320d, and a P39 RR. All are excellent, the BM's being the best.

Had B&O in an A5 and now have the HK system.
It isn't as good, despite being more expensive as a BMW option.

Spec it anyway, better than standard if you like music.

Have one in my Alpina B3. It's hardly the last word in fidelity but considering you're sitting in a car, you can't expect too much without going down the DSP route.

It's a good 'fun' system. Has reasonable separation and staging and sounds engaging enough when turned up loud as opposed to the typical mid-sweep characterictics you find with most systems which kills your ears with treble and ruins the soundstage with overblown, uncontrolled bass.

Any thoughts on the one available in the C-Class Merc?

Debating adding it as an option - it's £650 though!

Actually just checked online and it is £1100!

Sounds great in my BMW compared to the standard system in cars of the same vintage, and good in comparison to basic systems in current generation cars, however the games moved on.

A nice to have in a used purchase, but not a deal breaker. Insane money for a new purchase if you're spending your own cash, however. That said, amortised into the finance/lease/rental that most people use to "buy" new cars it could be worth a look.
