Evening all

My dads Focus seems to be throwing up the EML and after clearing it seems to re appear (P0030) Bank 1 sensor 1.

However there is 2 cats and 4 lambda sensors. I know bank 1 sensor 1 will be upstream but wich one is bank 1, Left or right?

If it helps one sensor has a black insulation and one has blue. Wich is the one I need?

Many thanks

Have this issue on a few cars normally just unplug one sensor then run the car for a while till a fault registers if the new fault states sensor two then change the other one smile

What Focus is it? You'll probably find it only has two sensors. When I had the fault code read on mine they mentioned about bank 1 and bank 2, but I think he said that this only applies to Fords with V6 engines.

I had a bank 1 fault and it was the sensor before the cat.
