So, pretend I'm a bit thick and explain to me what the benefit would be to them?

I must be too straight laced....

Try emailing them and the exact scam will soon become very apparent.

Probably the car is not in the UK and they can ship the car to you. The initial response will be very obvious how the scam will work.....

Have seen ads like these on Autotrader - always have a weird e-mail address and no telephone number and appear to be too good to be true.

And if it looks to good to be true...

Precisely. Too good to be true Scammy Scam Scam Scam,

Especially on the Internet. There are an ever increasing number of scammers..

Its easy money. Despite all the efforts to stop it.

In reality the risk of successful detection and prosecution is small.

Hence the growth

The only emails I've had about my MR2 Turbo so far have been scammers! Both working on oil rigs and wanting to buy the car for a family member, amazingly!

Telling them it's cash on collection usually sees them off!

Here is the reply I have had back from Julia. I knew she or the car wouldnt be in the country. ......and since when did Pistonheads provide delivery of vehicles?

Hi,
The car is still available for sale,it is in extremely good condition,100% HPI Clear, full service history.Currently I am on a business trip to Australia and will have to stay here for about 6 months (this is why I am selling the car and I set "very, very low" price to guarantee a sale to finance the Australian project )
I left the car in PistonHeads custody and they will handle the sale for me.The V5 log book is already signed on my behalf, the car will come with 2 keys, all service records and previous MOT's. PistonHeads will deliver the car directly to your home address and I will pay all delivery expenses.
I am waiting your reply if you are still interested in buying the car so I can provide you the contact details for the PH department that handles the sale, many thanks
Julia
