Volvo V70R Stolen today - Lincolnshire

Today (Sometime after 3pm)

After a burglary, a member from another forum has had his Volvo V70R stolen.

Reg: S306 ACD
Metallic Blue

Stolen from the West of Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

Has a few oddities, like 15" Antilla Alloys on the rear, and Comets on the front, also has crystal headlights/indicators

Ah no! Such a shame these are fantastic cars! My dad has an awd one in saffron pearl!

Hopefully you get it traced and the news is positive! Didn't think the v70rs would be on a theifs target list? :/

This was mine

It was insured, and was for sale, so it's not quite as sore as it would be if it was a keeper, but it still sucks. They made quite a mess of the house and took various other items (LCD TV, laptop, XBox, etc) while they were at it. All replaceable, but disheartening, and a huge pain in the arse.

I'm guessing someone has got themselves a pretty tasty getaway car for a job in a few days.

Details are still patchy (I'm due to call the police tomorrow morning), but it does appear to be for a planned "job", and the implication is that it's in good order. No news on the items stolen, but I'd happily give those up to get the keys (for the R and both sets taken for my 345) and driving license paper copy back. The even better news (frankly) is that there appears to be a very good chance that the perp will see justice. There's a limit to what I can say here on that front at the moment, but it's good news.

Hugh - yes, that's a pic from September 2010, before Nessy was scrapped. An attempt (albeit a half-hearted one) was made to steal that from the drive...almost certainly by our "friends of no fixed abode", as it was obviously going for scrap.

Felt kinda sick reading the title and i don't even own it anymore.

I was lucky enough to own this car for a short while before selling it to James a few years ago. When i read the title and then saw the plate on the original post i couldn't believe the car had been stolen and not only that read that fking thieving scum have trashed someones house and life upside down as well.

So sorry to hear this James but also very glad to hear you've got it back and the people who did this have possibly been caught.

Hiya Gaz...small world, isn't it?! I put 40k miles on the car in about 18 months (which cost a few bob in fuel...!), and it didn't miss a beat. In terms of reliability, it's the best car I've owned...and put a smile on my face every time I got in it. I had the wheels refurbed (the rears are still in the house, hence the 15s), had the front bumper repainted (it wasn't great to start with, and a meeting with a badger did it no favours), and it looks pretty good now. I did a couple of days at Castle Combe in it, but I finally faced facts about the fuel bill, and bought a D5. If I could justify *another* car (I've got enough retro/vintage playthings), I'd keep it...but I can't, so it's off to a new home in the next couple of months, all being well.

I'm due to pick the car up tomorrow. The police say it appears to be unharmed...but it may yet need a fresh set of locks. They have arrested the suspect today, and I'm hoping the keys show up when they thoroughly search his house.
