Went to the cinema with my OH and my son tonight. When we arrived we parked in one of the limited spaces available, unfortunately the car to the left was parked over the line a little so we had to park slightly over the next line leaving a tight fit for the empty space on the right (the next car over was also parked close to the left line so either space was a tight fit).

When we returned there was a car squeezed in on the right which was to be expected. The original car on the left had since gone and another car (a Focus) was parked in the space. However, attached to our windscreen was a bright yellow "PARKING CHARGE NOTICE". I assumed it was one of these Mickey Mouse tickets from the car parks owners. I was wrong, instead what it said inside was the following;

"This is not a parking ticket but I wish it fking was. Thank you for parking so close to my car and not leaving me any fking room to get in you selfish fking ..."

followed by a few more lines of abuse I can't recall. Furthermore there had been a clear attempt at keying the car although thankfully it simply rubbed away. Naturally this boiled my piss somewhat.

So I did what all good PH'ers would do. I wrote a reply;

"You would do well to remember you parked next to us you cocksocket. When we arrived the car on the left was parked too far over, so we had to park further over. You " I then placed it under the wiper of the car on the right.

Meanwhile there was a respectable looking couple sat in a Focus to our left, in their late 50s - early 60s who had been sat there since we got back to the car and were watching all this unfold. I hadn't actually paid them any notice but it wasn't until we were driving away that it occurred to me that this couple were more than likely responsible for the note. I had the girlfriend drive round the block and back through the car park and as we slowly passed the driver of the car on the right was reading my reply and the woman from the Focus on the left was getting out and walking towards him.

Now, what I'm curious to know is;

a) who are these aholes that carry this st around with them on the offchance someone might park too close to them?

b) did these aholes drive around the car park deliberately looking for somewhere they could park just so they could leave one of their 'hilarious' notes and vandalise someones car? I mean, what are the chances that someone who carries such drivel around with them should happen to park next to a 'parking offender'?

What goes through peoples minds? "Let's go to the cinema tonight, and bring those fake parking tickets, I feel tonight is our lucky night!"

I can only wonder if it ever occured to them the driver of the car they leave these notes on might assume (as we did) it was the people whose car was squeezed in next to us who had left such a note. And that, maybe instead of a reply, we might have been the type to wait for the driver to come back before smashing his teeth down his throat. And now, because of their actions, some poor fk is on the recieving end of something he wasn't even responsible for.

No, of course this never occurred to them. Because if it had they might have had the extra brain power to realise that maybe we weren't the ones that parked so close to the other car in the first place.

So why didn't you get out and ask the bloke? Scared of an old man?

Some people must have sad lives is my first thought tbh.

Sounds as though this is something they go out looking for?

Because they would have denied it. Then what? As with all things like this it's about what you can prove, not what you suspect.

Look through the bad parking thread. It's full of ste suggestions like that.

"Am gonner get sum cards printed up with you park like a on them love from pisstonheads it'll be well funny innit."

Various claims of hilarity may be exaggerated.

Surely it's much more likely that the driver of the car to the right actually did leave the note on your car?

That would seem obvious but remember, he chose to park there after we parked. Assumedly he did so because there were no other spaces so logically he might assume a car to the right had parked too far over.

It's far more likely the car on the right parked first after we arrived, the space on the left then cleared and the couple in the Focus arrived and made the assumption we parked close to the car on the right.

It sounds like you've just written an angry note to a bemused older couple. As thick as people must be to key cars, I assume they'd the sense to then vacate the area and negate the risk of retaliation, rather than remain parked next to you.

Or he might assume you were st at parking.

Indeed. But it's not like they have different versions of their PCN depending on the prevailing situation, now is it. You never know, he might be a PHer and come on to bh about some twonk and their st parking at the cinema. Or he might have taken a photo of your car and you'll see it in the bad parking thread.

Who knows.

that's fine because they can turn it over and read the original notice and see what the reply was in response to.

but that's kind of my point, innocent people get abused because someone else deicded to take the law into their own hands.

Here are some notes left on a Range Rover that parked in two spaces, reserved for taxis, in an airport car park for several days.

Quite restrained, I thought...hehe

Just miserable old farts by the sounds of it. I dared overtake one doing 35mph in a 60 limit the other day. No tailgating, indication, plenty of room, open and clear view ahead, good conditions and visibility. Bald old fart and his permed old bat obviously felt this was highly rude so did the usual repertoire of flashing lights, horn, speeding up to try and stop me passing/tailgate me.

It's the typical small minded BS that you see a lot of in the UK these days.

If it makes you feel any better, I parked an F250 in 4 spaces the other day hehe

(but then we do have larger car parks here).

Not that you should do this, but imagine that you were to stop across the middle of the road to prevent them from getting past, and then walking up to their window to ask 'what the fk is your problem?'. They would st themselves.

I hate these people that feel invincible in the protection of their car, and of those people that feel insulted by being overtaken- people feel comfortable driving at faster (yet still legal) speeds than others, and some cars just happen to be faster than others too.

Their 'fun' would have been ruined straight away if this was me, as I wouldn't have opened it and thrown it straight into a nearby bin.

Further to the above action, I would have looked for CCTV and, if it existed, gone straight back to the cinema to enquire about it.

So presuming it was the old codgers, they wouldn't have had their fun, and would hopefully be having words with the police, getting a record and paying to repair the paintwork. That would teach them.

Maybe the old couple got out of the car to read the note out of curiousity? I think I'd go and have a nosey if I saw someone removing a note from their car, replying to it and then sticking it on another car!

something doesn't ring true in this story.no way would an old fella a)plant a stinking sweary note on a car followed by b)keying said car and then c)sitting there waiting for the owner to return and possibly take a hiding from said owner.

if i was going to lower myself to that level i would do the crime then exit stage left pretty quickly.if i was going to watch the unfolding mayhem it would certainly be from a safe distance....unless the guy looked like i could take him then at that point i would race back to the car park beating my chest and looking cross

Same here.

If I see bad parking like in the OP I normally assume it was because there was a bad-parker beforehand who forced their hand. I myself have had to park according to the options given.

The Range Rover scenario above is different. That's just being incredibly selfish. And the notes were very funny.
