Hi folks,
My insurance company want to know the origonal price for my January 2001 ( non-covered headlamp ) 450 Chimaera. As it is a second hand car I have no paperwork from the supplying dealer so I am going to have to make a guessimate, would I be correct in thinking @ £32,000 ? ( 1/2 leather, metallic, cd changer )
Thanks
Barrie

In case it helps I paid £40952 for a new Chim 500 with covered lights and a few extras in March 2002 so you are probably not too far out.

We still have the Chim. smile

I can try to remember to dig it out from the pile of paperwork, but my '99 Chim 450 with PAS and A/C was about £38K new.

Hi, I have the original brochure and price list that came with my Chimaera when I bought her recently. Although it is dated October 1998. A standard 450 Chimaera 1998 was £34,000. Extras: Air con £1930. PAS £980. Metalic paint £335, Pearlescent £670, Starmist £440.

May be daft asking, but why would they want to know the original price?

I agree it's odd and I have no idea why, maybe it's a Belgian insurance thing or maybe it's just this particular company.
It's a wonderfully weird world we live in.
