I got 9 out of 10.

I selected the wrong option for the tyre pressure low warning, the symbol looks like what can only be described as a witches couldren with an exclamtion mark in it.

In my defence I never knew this was even possible and still can't get my head around how it knows if there is not enough air in the tyre.

Are cars seriously being developed with warning lights for this? Surely if your tyre is flat you can visually see it aswell as feel it whilst driving.

It's been around for ages - it's a requirement of cars that have runflats.

Same one I got wrong hehe

Must be cars with runflats, think they have to have a tyre pressure monitoring system. AFAIK they don't actually monitor the pressure though, changes in individual wheel speed can indicate a loss in pressure.

Tyre pressure one got me too. Surely a side on view of a flat tyre would of been much easier to understand.

  • * Not all fast fit centres are the same - my local National Tyres is excellent, and it's manager is a PHer as well!

Not just run flats, they do monitor pressure on each wheel/ tyre mine are activated with a 5 psi drop which is not detectable by just looking.

10 out of 10

But predictably enough Tit Fit even managed to screw this up.

Q1) Technically this is a problem with the ABS, not the braking system.
Q3) Battery. This can also mean over charging
Q9) I had a Octavia vRS and this was the light for both of the top answers

9/10 - I didn't get the glow plug question correct ... I've never seen that warning symbol on a dash before!

Really? I was going to excuse you if you'd not had a diesel before, but it's a pretty obvious symbol on 306 diesels when you come to start them...

I also got 9/10 - got the brake question wrong (I thought that the red circle with exclamation mark was brake wear, rather than brake fault which was the correct answer).

I stand corrected, didn't realise it was a requirement on all new cars now.

Turns out some manufacturers use little pressure sensors in each wheel, some use the ABS system to work out a change in wheel speed to show underinflation. Everydays a school day smile

Wasn't paying attention on one of the questions so selected the wrong answer. Did have to laugh at the "pregnant woman detected in car", cant help but think that an "Extra level of mental detected" warning light might not be a bad thing hehe
