Hi Peeps
My drivers door tends to pop off its door latch when driving since it has had new rubber door seals, or maybe i'm just to broad in the shoulders!.. The door so far (touch wood) has never opened fully but i don't want to chance it knowing my luck !!
So are the door latches ajustable in any way or do i need to go on a diet!!

scratchchin...When i lost 14lb in weight pre-christmas my wedge felt a lot faster...Post-christmas its considerably slower!!..Its amazing how much food one can consume in an afternoon!!..I do believe the door lock mechanism can be moved by loosening the three screws that hold it to the rear of the door..You might need some locktite on them when you are happy with where it sits..Dont undo them fully..Just enough to move the lock..The Strike plate can also be adjusted but you will need to remove the rear side trim and use a 10mm socket on the nuts behind it but whatever you do dont undo them fully as you will have a hard time trying to retrieve any bits...Ziga

(generic example pic) but your wedge should have 2 or 3 bolts like this, loosen them just enough to move the mechanism in the door a bit nearer to the car, so it locks more tightly. Refasten and see if it helped, if not repeat!

Don't overloosen them if they fall out you're screwed and will have to open up the door panel usually.

new door seal.....hmm...

Just a thought, are you sure the locks aren't actually too tight ? They can also pop if they aren't fully latched, and they do have a 'two phase' type enagagement.

This is assuming they are still the Cortina/Granada locks...

Anyway the result is the same.... needs to be adjusted.

If it still pops, you probably need a new door lock ?
