Staying away for cheap

I'm looking for a room for one person in Uppsala, Sweden for a week, but it needs to be on a budget.

I've already asked on the university facebook page if anyone has anything available, but to no avail.
Does anyone know what the cheapest way to stay for a middle aged lady (i.e. not couchsurfing) would be?
All the hotels are coming in at around £600 for a week, but thats too much really.

I just found a nice alternative where local families rent out rooms for students for a good price and it seems that would be perfect for one week.
