Hi, I'm new to PH but it looks just the place to ask for some advice. I have owned a Tamora for 7 years and it hasn't missed a beat, till now. The speed readout is intermittent, both the needle and the digital stop working at the same time, the needles all work on the start up test, ie going to FSD and back to zero but do not register when the car is moving. would I be correct in assuming it's the sensor that has failed? I see in this forum that the sensor is a common fault. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located, how to acquire one and change it?
many thanks
Bri

Its On the diff. Look through the rear wheel on the passenger side you can see it. Its a bit of a pig to do but by no means a garage only job. You might be lucky and it just wants a good clean on the sensor face and re-gapping maybe if its worked loose and is too far away to read.

Take the rear near side wheel off, the speed sensor is right at the back of the wheel arch taking a reading off the diff. Steve Heath (shpub) can supply a sensor, or TVR Power, Racing Green etc.

Mine has just gone so will be making tracks to TVR Power when the weather warms up.

Same happened on my t350, bought replacement from steve heath, fitted myself, fairly simple job, you will need the wheel off.

I'd 1st check the connection from the sensor to the vehicle loom. there could be an issue with the connector or broken connection to the connector or may be the that the more unscrupulous owners who dis-connect the connection to keep their mileage down & have not re-connected it properly! Its situated on the right hand side under the carpet where the float valve is situated on the tank... you can't miss it.
