I am talking about this Audi R8.

I appreciate the car is a Category D (& the advert has been written by an IT Illiterate monkey), Im more interested in opinions on the look of the car rather than the caliber of the breed. I personally think its one of the best looking R8's I have ever seen (barring the rear lights).

I've never been entirely clear what "chavvy" means beyond "something I don't like".

I like it, Why not?

It just looks like a G4 R8 to me, which can only be good.

I think, in general, it means something that would be appreciated by the underclasses. You know, those feral people that live in the council estates we drive past in our Bentleys on the way to the yachting marina.

Looks allright, nothing wrong with an orange car.

That center console is pretty gash though...

That is a terrible argument (especially from one who is supposedly trained in the fine art of arguing biggrin ).

The vast majority of design features that look acceptable on a supercar/hypercar will look terrible when applied to a mass-market car. Decals, big rear wings, loud/lairy paint jobs etc etc.

Going back to the car in question, I quite like it on the face of it; I would agree that the rear lights looks terrible (but they're easily changeable), and as with any Cat C/D, I'd want to know everything about the damage and subsequent repair.

I now feel old.

I'm guessing he isn't a regular science contributor to the Today programme though?

Never liked R8s and the colour is doing that one no favours. I don't know if I would call it chavvy, unless that is just another word for distasteful.

I don't like it, but it's not what I'd call chavvy.

I think it looks great, rear lights aside. About time people had the R8 in interesting colours. It's far from a subtle car anyway so why not have it in a far from subtle colour.

Looks pretty good to me. I like the subtle highlighting of the orange console inside too, normally when that's done the whole frickin' interior is plastered in colour and it looks hideous.

Never buy a car from a dealer that doesn't really know what they are selling, even small mistakes like this would make me keep my £45 in my pocket.

As for chavvy, I'd call it "footballer/wannabe gangster" look. Just as bad I'm afraid!
