Hello,

had a little search but couldn't find advice on this one.

My Z4M is showing as 2,000mls off it's INSP II service, however it's got a knocking noise that I'm convinced is front anti-roll bar bushes or something similar.

Anyway I'll be taking it to my usual BMW Specialist (Autotech in Langley, Berks) as I'm keeping the car for a while yet and I trust them over a main stealer anyday - I even paid a main stealer to carry out a KDS and they couldn't straighten the steering wheel (but they could charge me for trying!)

I want to check the car in to have the knocking seen to but as it's a bit of an effort to get the car over to the specialist should I just get the INSP II carried out early?

Oh and I'm sure 2,000 mls on the indicator is really 1,200 mls (ish)...

Try re-torqueing the nuts on the front firewall struts first, this is a common issue that can occur when they back off.

Cheers fellas, just having a google now, don't suppose you have a linky?

Seem to be lots of people calling it a 'popping' sound...

I have a friend with a pit so if its an easy fix would love to give it ago !

No need for a link or a pit as it's just the nuts that hold the brace in position between the suspension turret and the firewall at the rear of the engine bay.

Sometimes they come loose, sometimes the brace cracks at the mount.
